This course is a beginners introduction to fermented food and drinks.

You'll learn what fermentation is all about, the different ways to ferment and preserve, how to do it and what to look for when fermenting at home.  We'll taste kimchis and krauts at their different stages so that you're leaning what to look for and you'll gain an understanding of how to use and ways to enjoy fermented foods in your cooking.  We'll make a kimchi that you'll get to take away with you to ferment at home.

In the second part of this workshop we'll show you how to successfully brew kombucha at home. You'll learn how to make the basic style using different teas and then how and when to infuse with different fruits and spices to help you make lively and characterful kombucha at home.  You'll taste different kombucha's at different stages to help give you a good understanding of what to look for and brew with success. 

The class is 2 hrs and we'll be open for wine and a small menu once the class is finished.
