Anna Jones brings some sunshine to the year when she joins us here at The Picklery on 23rd April to cook from her exquisite new book The Modern Cooks Year.  We’re hugely excited to welcome Anna to our kitchen counter and this one-off event brings about a very intimate evening with one of the UK’s beloved food writers.

Anna will begin the evening with a talk on what she loves about cooking and her life in food.  To follow she will cook dinner at the kitchen counter where you’ll be able to talk to Anna as she cooks.  Anna believes that vegetables should be put at the centre of every table, and is devoted to helping people make a long-term commitment to eating well.  Her menu will bring together some of her favourite dishes from her new book The Modern Cooks Year.

Anna writes regular columns for The Guardian, she is also author of A Modern Way to Eat, A Modern Way to Cook, and most recently The Modern Cooks Year.  She lives, writes and cooks in Hackney.

Jones’s appeal lies in the very tangible depths of flavour and wealth of texture at work in her dishes. So much so that their vegetarian nature passes you by, its simple, wonderful workable food that will undoubtedly make people happy…Anna Jones, you queen of greens, you’ve only gone and done it again.’
